With it now being November, and winter fast approaching, you might need a book that will warm you up and take you away from these chilly days. Here Today, Gone to Maui is the perfect book to transport you to tropical Hawaii, and make you feel like those long summer days haven’t yet left.
This adorable book opens with Jane preparing for her Hawaiian vacation with beautiful boyfriend, Jimmy. Jane, the obsessive compulsive worrier, is determined to make this the vacation of her dreams, and to start her new life. Despite Jimmy’s strange shortcomings, and questionable behavior, Jane is dying to get him to put a ring on her finger, and what better place for an engagement than Hawaii?
But when Jane and Jimmy arrive in paradise, Jimmy’s strange behavior becomes even more alarming, and he ends up going missing. Jane is terrified that his disappearance means the end of their relationship, and the end of Jimmy, but this story is just beginning to unfold.
Carol Snow draws you in with the lure the sunny elegance of tropical Hawaii, and keeps you there with a twisting plot line and loveable, entertaining characters that Jane meets on her “vacation.”
Here Today, Gone to Maui has a light plot, an easy-to-read, hard-to-put-down storyline. Although this is the only book of Snow’s that I have read thus far, I intend to pick up some more from her immediately–I can see her becoming a new favorite.
